Dye Sublimation Printing

Speaker : Scott Sibley

Dye Sublimation printing is a unique process where art, graphics or pictures can be transferred from a dye/sub print to a blank media surface (ceramic tile, wood, glass, aluminum or fabric) that has been coated with a very thin layer of polyester. Sublimation happens through the application of heat and pressure resulting in detailed and dynamic color images permanently infused into the media surface itself.

My passion for Art and Photography came from my travels – first as a Marine in Vietnam and later while developing and running bottled water businesses in Europe, the Middle East, India and Russia. During my presentation on dye sublimation printing I will introduce you to the technical process, the materials and equipment used in the process and examples of the end results.

Bring your questions and we’ll try to answer them

Our meetings usually include a question and answer session at the beginning where people having problems with their computers can get help from some of our more knowledgeable members. After our main speaker we break for refreshments and then hear from Randy Langel, our resident computer expert, who also answers questions and tells us about the latest developments in computer technology and the internet.
