OASIS SENIOR CENTER VOLUNTEERS……
BEHIND THE SCENES.....
HELPING MAKING THINGS HAPPEN…

Whenever you see a large-group event happening at the OASIS SENIOR CENTER, you can be sure that there are a number of senior volunteers helping out. Some may be setting up the room, others may be in the kitchen preparing food, others may be greeting you at the door, and some very dedicated seniors will start cleaning up after the event.

But, the above describes only one kind of volunteer job. The large number of seniors who visit the Center from day to day may not realize that there are many volunteers helping out in so many ways to make sure the Center’s programs and services are readily available to all seniors.

Generally speaking, there are two kinds of volunteer opportunities: you can work on an on-going time and day schedule; e.g., a set time and day to teach a class, lead an activity or maybe to work in the library; or you can volunteer to work on one-time special events: The Boutique and Rummage Sale or the Corona Del Mar Christmas Walk.

Whatever way you volunteer, you can be sure you will meet interesting people and make new friends, and most important, you will be serving your fellow seniors as well as contributing to the success of the OASIS Senior Center.

Volunteer applications are available at the Information Desk inside the main office entrance or check in with Maria in the Friends’ Office.
