OASIS Travel Department


The OASIS Travel Department invites you to join them for one of their exciting day trips.

With a variety of destinations from museums and musicals to gardens, gambling casinos and more, there is definitely a trip for you to enjoy! All day trips include deluxe transportation from the OASIS Senior Center to the destination and return. Extended trips are offered through the Travel Department and flyers are posted in the Travel office.

Come by the OASIS Senior Center and meet the Travel Department volunteers or call them at 949.718.1810 for assistance.  They will be most happy to help you find the trip of your choice. Trips are sold on a first come-first sign-up basis.

Upcoming Day Trips


Queen Mary Tour
Wednesday, April 15 $115/$120

Join us as we travel to Long Beach to board The Queen Mary where we will have the chance to experience, firsthand, one of the world's most renowned and remarkable ocean liners. We will participate in the Glory Days Historical Tour which delves into the ship's expansive past, including her groundbreaking construction, her time as a troop ship during WWII and of course, her glory days as the world's most luxurious ocean liner. We will eat in the Promenade Café as we enjoy an included lunch. There will be time to explore the shops, the historic photo walk, The Cunard Story and all the experience points throughout the ship. Or you can just relax in one of the common areas. This is a perfect place to spend a fun-filled day!

Art Alive in San Diego
Friday, April 24 $115/$120

Join us as we visit the San Diego Museum of Art and we explore the museum as it bursts into bloom. This year, Art Alive is a highlight of the museum's centennial celebration, transforming the galleries into an unforgettable, immersive spectacle of flowers and art! Art Alive will be infused with the vibrant, theatrical spirit of late 19th century Paris, brought to life through Toulouse-Lautrec's distinctive artistic lens. After the exhibit, you can stroll through Balboa Park to find other museum, gardens, and places to eat. Lunch is on your own.

Aquarium of the Pacific & Long Beach Harbor Cruise
Tuesday, May 12 $108/$113
Enjoy a wonderful day in Long Beach starting with touring the “Aquarium of the Pacific”, featuring more than 100 exhibits, and 19 major habitats.  We will tour the major exhibits that are displayed including the Frogs exhibit, coral reefs and the outside shark lagoon.  Come explore the intriguing world of sea jellies, along with the penguin and sea otter habitats.   We will also learn about the veterinary care services of the Aquarium in the 14,000-square-foot Molina Animal Care Center which provides enhanced healthcare to the animals as well as other opportunities for us to view veterinary medicine in action. There will be time to shop and eat (on your own) at The Pike Outlets Center before boarding the bus to experience a narrated harbor cruise in Long Beach, with stunning views of the skyline, the Queen Mary, sea lions, and international cargo ships, offering insights into the harbor's rich history.  Extensive walking on this tour.

San Diegos Hidden Gems
Thursday, May 14 $100/$105

Come discover some hidden gems in San Diego with our area expert Allen to guide us. Highlights for the day include the Barrio Logan murals, the Harper Topiary Garden, the Spruce Street suspension bridge, Mission Hills' seven walking bridges, the Hooterville Animal Farm, and the Fairmont Grand Hotel. Lunch will be on your own in Mission Hills. Enjoy these local surprises in "America's Finest City"!

Old Pasadena Foodie Walking Tour
Wednesday, May 20 $140/ $145

Discover the history, architecture, and global flavors of Old Pasadena on this guided walking food tour. Stroll through colorful alleys and hidden passageways while sampling tastings from 5–6 local eateries, including British tea, Indian, Venezuelan, and European-style chocolate specialties. Along the way, hear engaging stories of Pasadena’s transformation from orange groves to a premier Southern California destination. The tour is hosted by knowledgeable guides, features ample tastings, follows safe, flat sidewalks, and concludes at the original starting point.

Descanso Gardens
Monday, June 1 $85/90

Descanso Gardens is a story of plants and the people who loved them for their lifegiving utility and their great natural beauty. Descanso was established in the 1930s when Elias Manchester Boddy bought 165 acres of undeveloped land, now Descanso, for a ranch and new home. As you stroll through a mix of wild and cultivated land, you’ll find California native plants, an evolving oak woodland, and one of the largest camellia collections in the United States along with a variety of native wildlife. You can visit the former Boddy home now owned by the gardens as well as the Haaga Art Gallery (the Gallery is only open when an exhibit is scheduled). Refreshments are available for purchase in the courtyard near the entrance to Descanso for lunch on your own or you may bring your lunch and enjoy it in the picnic area. You may also choose to dine at The Farmhouse, an innovative farm-to-table restaurant using locally sourced ingredients.

Sound of Music - Segerstrom Center
Saturday, June 13 $95/100

For 65 years, The Sound of Music has been a favorite play. With its timeless story and irresistibly charming score, this Rodgers & Hammerstein classic isn’t just meant to be enjoyed—it’s meant to be shared. Now, a critically acclaimed North American tour brings the cherished musical to Segerstrom Center stage to teach a new generation to sing. This vibrant and romantic tale of Maria and the von Trapp family will captivate audiences with its universal themes of love, resilience and the power of music.  The Sound of Music features beloved songs like “Do-Re-Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen,” and “Edelweiss.” The Sound of Music is the iconic tale of a spirited nun who chooses not to live in silence behind closed doors— and, by following her heart, learns to climb every mountain. ƒ   

Note: You can purchase and pickup your ticket(s) from Oasis Travel Department. All ticket holders will provide their own transportation to Segerstrom Center.

Hollywood Bowl - Beach Boys
Thursday, July 2 $125/$130
Fireworks Spectacular with special guests The Beach Boys! The Bowl’s annual July 4th amazing fireworks show is an annual hit and once again we invite you to join us as we listen to the famous Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and one of our favorites, The Beach Boys! This band is hailed as “America’s Band”. Enjoy the inspiring music with the Bowl’s famous pyrotechnic displays. We have secured section M with bench seating with backs and cushions. Bring a picnic dinner or purchase food there. Wine and beverages are permitted. Suggested: sweater or jacket, comfortable walking shoes. This event sells out quickly, so don’t wait!

Ring of Fire LA-Tribute to Johnny Cash & June Carter Cash 
Monday, July 27 $128/$133

Introducing “Ring of Fire LA,” the ultimate Johnny Cash tribute band hailing from the heart of Los Angeles! With a deep reverence for the Man in Black, this electrifying group delivers a powerful, authentic performance that transports audiences back to the golden era of country music. Featuring soulful vocals, masterful instrumentation, and a setlist packed with Johnny Cash’s greatest hits, they will be joined by a special vocalist representing June Carter Cash.  “Ring of Fire LA” captures the spirit and sound of a true American legend.  The Grand Event Center in Long Beach for a wonderful BBQ Brisket of Beef luncheon and classic hits like Folsom Prison, Walk the Line, Jackson, and of course, Ring of Fire.
Lunch is at 1:00 p.m. and the show starts at 2:00 p.m.

Battleship IOWA Museum & Harbor Cruise
Tuesday, August 25 $115/120

Join us for a “presidential” guided tour as we step back in time to an era of courage and innovation aboard the Battleship IOWA. Explore exhibits highlighting the ship’s service during World War II, the Korean War, and the Cold War. The tour also offers a comprehensive look at naval and maritime history in San Pedro. Experience firsthand the history that our generation lived through, guided by knowledgeable veterans whose stories bring the battleship’s past to life.  We’ll explore the ship’s corridors, stand beneath the massive 16-inch guns and learn how this historic vessel served during three different wars.  Lunch is on your own at Vickie’s Doghouse. Following lunch, we’ll board a harbor boat for a 45-minute narrated Harbor Tour Cruise.  Marvel at iconic Los Angeles waterfront landmarks, including the Vincent Thomas Bridge, container terminals, Angels Gate Lighthouse and other working harbor sights.
